Hi, I’m Dr. Heather Sexton, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Certified Sex and Relationship therapist specializing in helping people reconnect, repair, and thrive—relationally, emotionally, and intimately.

Whether you're navigating communication breakdowns in your relationship, mismatched desire, healing after betrayal, or just feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, I provide a supportive space where you can feel seen, heard, and respected.

My work centers on deepening connection and restoring intimacy. I help couples and individuals explore the complex layers of their relationship—emotional, sexual, and relational—so they can move from frustration and disconnection to clarity, compassion, and renewed closeness.

With advanced training in couples and sex therapy, including Imago Relationship Therapy, Hakomi, EMDR, and sex-positive frameworks, my approach is integrative, evidence-based, and grounded in the belief that healthy intimacy is possible for every person and relationship—with the right tools, support, and willingness to grow.

I work with all types of folks—monogamous, non-monogamous, queer, straight, long-term, neurodivergent, newly committed—who are ready to have more honest conversations, explore their sexual and emotional needs, and build a stronger foundation together.

My style is warm, collaborative, growth-oriented, and nonjudgmental. I bring growth, structure, and softness to the therapeutic space, helping you slow down, tune in, and move forward with greater awareness and intention.

Qualifications: I hold a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) in Clinical Sexology from the Modern Sex Therapy Institutes. I have earned a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson University. I am a member of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research, the West Virginia Counseling Association, Imago Relationships North America, and the American Association for Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. I am currently licensed in Ohio (E.2203103 SUPV) and West Virginia (No.2785).

Financial Cost: As many insurance plans do not cover sexual health diagnoses or true relationship therapy, if you are seeking individual therapy, I am “in-network” with limited insurance companies. At this time, the Health Plan Commercial, WV Peak, Aetna, and United. This “in-network” status does not guarantee your counseling will be covered. Please confirm with your insurance company that I am in your specific network and that sex therapy is covered.

I primarily offer self-pay services; my rate for couples therapy is $200 per session.

Couples Therapy is SELF-PAY only, as I do not diagnose in couples therapy; the relationship is my client.

I do offer a limited sliding scale if needed. I also offer couples workshops and at-home activities, which may be a consideration if cost is a factor.
