Autism & ADHD Assessments
Sometimes, life makes more sense when you finally have the words to describe your experience. I offer gentle, supportive assessments for adults who may be wondering if Autism or ADHD plays a role in how they think, feel, and move through the world.
My goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where you can explore your questions and gain clarity. Together, we’ll look not just at challenges, but also at your strengths, so you can better understand yourself and feel more confident moving forward.
Getting an assessment isn’t about labeling—it’s about self-discovery, self-acceptance, and finding the right tools to support the life you want to live.
If you’ve been searching for answers, you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to help.
No two people experience autism in the same way. Our identities—like race, gender, culture, and sexuality—shape how we experience the world and how others see us and how we see ourselves. Because of this, some people are often missed or misunderstood in the assessment process.
Taking an intersectional approach means looking at the whole person, not just a checklist of traits. It helps ensure your unique story is heard, respected, and understood. This way, the assessment is more accurate, more compassionate, and more reflective of who you truly are.
Too often, certain groups—such as women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals—are overlooked or misdiagnosed because their experiences don’t match outdated stereotypes. By honoring the whole person and considering the many identities they hold, assessments become more accurate, compassionate, and meaningful.
An intersectional approach helps ensure that each person’s unique story is heard and validated, paving the way for a clearer understanding of their strengths and needs.
Each evaluation includes multiple sessions, including a detailed diagnostic interview, standardized measures, and cognitive testing. When appropriate, input from trusted people is welcome. Feel free to bring notes, a pet, binders, or old report cards. My role is to help you explore and understand your experience, not to label, but to support your self-awareness and remove barriers.
The full cost of the assessment and report is $600. Payment plans are optional.
Heather Sexton, PhD., LPCC-S, CST, IRT
Hi, I’m Dr. Heather. Since my own late Autism diagnosis, I am passionate about offering neurodivergent-affirming assessments. I have personally experienced how individuals are overlooked in traditional diagnostic settings, particularly for those who have spent years adapting to systems that were never designed with them in mind. If you’re here exploring the possibility of a diagnosis as an adult, you are not alone, and you’re not too late. I specialize in adult diagnostic assessments for Autism and ADHD. My assessment process is collaborative and affirming. I encourage individuals who have done their own research, explored self-diagnosis, or found resonance through social media or peer communities to bring what they have learned about themselves. This is a joint process, and your voice belongs at the center.
